Hi, I'm Kyunghee.
I tell stories that are honest and true.
From simple pleasures of enjoying a homemade meal that brings you back to your childhood home, to heartache that was left in a dark season- we hold both in our hands. My poems are inspired by my own experiences as a Korean-American second generation immigrant navigating life. I share to create space for authentic conversations, especially in cultures where vulnerability is not deemed courageous. No shying away from hard conversations here.
I am driven by curiosity & empathy. I believe our stories are beautiful- yours & mine.
Topics I explore in my poetry include: identity, relationships, trauma, hope & grief, home, cultural expectations, and the human experience. To sum it up, I see it as a journey of becoming and belonging. I hope these words inspire you to tell your own story, too.
In my blog, I share about lessons learned as I lean into living in the seasons.
In addition, I am a self-care coach for women with a certification in yoga and mindfulness. In all that I do, whether in writing or coaching, I intend to bring healing. You can find my self-care coaching offerings to learn more.
Comments or questions, I'd love to hear from you!
